Liberty steel group / Entire Pass line revamping and process modification of an electrolytic tinning line (2018 / 2020).

For Liberty steel group account, Withindustry followed up of the engineering, and design of some specific electrical and automated technical solutions for an electrolytic Tinning line revamping project.

This project includes new TGBT, replacing of all pass line motors, drives, automation and HMI, a new chrome free passivation pass line, shifting of the main control room, new safety access areas.

The new configuration includes ABB ACS880 drives, PLC Tia S7-1500 and S7-1500F, and a wonderware Archestra HMI. This part has been integrated by the supplier Engie-Fabricom.

Withindustry also defined and followed up detailed engineering of the new chromefree process automation and electrical package, from basic engeneering to commissioning and fine tunning, to meet all specific mechanical suppliers needs, and final user and maintenance expectations.

Withindustry also clarified all safety access zones needs with final user and maintenance, and defined technical specifications for our electrical suppliers to meet this requirements.

Withindustry made the electrical an automation detailed engineering to shift the previous process control room to assemble it with new final check control room. +- 500 IO’s has been transfered through a new Profibus network.

We collaborated with our networked freelance Alstom expert to integrate a Profibus network on existing process HPC0 PLC. This configuration allowed us to use same ET200SP IO cards as for he rest of the installation, waiting for the process PLC to be revamped with Tia S7-1500 PLC (and profinet network).

Liberty steel group / Automation maintenance on tin-plate coils production lines (2016 / 2020).

Our automation engineers intergated our client on-site maintenance team for day works and on-call works on december 2016 and still ongoing in 2020, to maintain and improve actual production lines :

  • A continuous annealing production line
  • Skinpass production line
  • Shearing production line
  • An electrolytic tinning production line

One of the major aspect was to quickly acquire the know-how of production lines, and to get familar with automation and electrical components diversity, such as :

Especially to get autonomous for on-call interventions out of office hours.

Depending on periods, one to three automation enginners have been collaborating with a full time contract.

UCB / New PEG2MAL production (2012 / 2014).

Fabricom project manager for a new production process of a PEG2MAL basic component and PCS7 automation package, from basic engineering and design of a standard block library up to commissioning (€900K for services only). 4 reactors (+ 3 filters and 5 tanks), 5 dryers, chromatography, insulator, washer, ACN distribution loops, DCM, IPA, nitrogen distribution, compressed air, glycol water, chilled water, steam, and existing PPW loop extension.

ArcelorMittal / Electrical and automation revamping of a 37 tons and 70 tons lifting crane (2018).

Electrical and automation revamping of crane P29 on ArcelorMittal site in Liège (Tilleur).

This crane has 2 lifting motors for 35 tons and 70 tons, one embedded operator cabin and a remote control.

Follow up off the electrical specifications and electrical detail enginnering, and writing of functional analysis and programming on a Siemens S7-400F PLC and operator pannel in WinCC flexible, equiped with Siemens S120 drives series for a manual mode, to later become a full automatic crane.

Crane also has safety access and position measurements level PLd.

ArcelorMittal / Cranes full automatization on Liège production lines (2017 / 2018).

ArcelorMittal project manager from pre-studies to commissioning of 2 automated cranes to manage coils park and automated trucks unloading.

Including mechanical review and modifications / complete new cranes, electrical revamping, automation and park management software.

Including specifications writing, consultation and follow up of subcontracors.

Own ArcelorMittal project team management.

Mindful to communicate and understand fields and production concerns.

ArcelorMittal / Maintenance reliability improvement, tinning line 2 Ferblatil (2016 / 2017).

Implementation of new tools to improve reliability and reporting of production quality monitoring.

Increasing reliability and improvement of fault diagnosis tools to reduce downtime.

Troubleshooting assistance during line stops.

Arceo / New Line, JVD Kessales (2015 / 2016).

Project manager for the supply of Fabricom electrical equipment from 3 TGBT 5000A up to S7-400 / WinCC automation (€6M) of a new vacuum jet vapour deposit line at the Kessales / Liège site.

From basic engineering to commissioning of the project, including strip conveying, mechanical and chemical treatment, a vacuum system, a sputtering system, a melting furnace and zinc vapour deposit, secure access and management of emergency stops, energy and HVAC management.

3 TGBT, 8000 PLC inputs / outputs, 150m of electrical cabinets and 92 control panels, 132 Siemens drives (52 S120 on DC bus and 80 G120), 9 PLC S7-400 including one safety PLC, 2 redundant WinCC servers, 33 PC clients and 180 supervision views.

Drever / J525 furnace modification (2014 / 2015).

Fabricom project manager for the automation modification (in Yokogawa) of a Drever furnace in Brazil.

ArcelorMittal / Electrolyte modification on tinning line 2 Ferblatil (2014/2015).

Fabricom project manager for the supply of an electrical and automation package (ABB HPC0 and S7-400 / Intouch) following the modification of the electrolyte on a tinning line, from basic engineering to commissioning, including replacement of 10000A rectifiers and modifications to distribution busbars, strip conveying modification on old DC motors, and various modifications to the existing installation (€1M).

GSK / IPV B39.3 transition, Rixensart (2012 / 2014).
